Jupiter I may be my first painting of Jupiter but its unlikely to be my last.

I began this painting loosely based off of the reference photo to the left but for the most part i was just doing it from memory after the underpainting was done.

This version of Jupiter is intentionally oversaturated with color as per my usual style. Rather than pale and milky i chose to bring out the color to show more depth in the various layers of the planets surface and so that the motion of its surface is better captured.

While I do thoroughly enjoy this piece its honestly not enough for me and I will definitely be revisiting this planet someday in the future probably with the expressionism dialed back to about 50% instead of full 100%,  and based on newer James Webb or Cassini imagery .
