The Story of this Artwork
The name of Kurrents nebula is obviously a wordplay/pun title as per my typical naming conventions, it was loosely inspired by underwater rivers and currents in the deep ocean particularly those that can occasionally be seen in and around deep sea canyons. However like other works in this series it has no actual reference or subject per say.
If my memory serves me correctly I finished this piece in only 24 hours over around 8 sessions making it one of my fastest paintings to date, at least if we are not counting a few speed paintings and sketchbook projects that I dont really show off because most of it is just experimentation and theory study.
Honestly these smaller works dont have a ton more to talk about, most of them are quick side projects that I do to take a break from other things I am working on and this one was no different.
However, the creation of this work was the point at which I officially decided these smaller works would be a proper named and numbered series that I will continue to make between larger projects.
The goal of this series being to create a vast and diverse array of nebula art in many different color schemes and utilizing different techniques as I continuously experiment and refine my style as a whole. it also doesn’t hurt that these smaller projects help me have more content for the algorithms. =D
