The Story of this Artwork

I painted this during Inktober 2024 and it was inspired by the bubble nebula Aka. Sharpless 162 Aka. Caldwell 11 which i had saved some pictures of on my computer a few months earlier that i found on Hubblesite.org

I am still super proud of Sharpless nebula because of how quickly I was able to finish it. it is a 12″ by 12″ painting and I finished it in only three days including varnishing which for me is incredibly fast.

Sharpless 162, also known as the Bubble Nebula, is a stunning emission nebula located in the constellation Cassiopeia. Its distinctive “bubble” shape, formed by stellar winds from a massive central star, creates a captivating cosmic display. This nebula, surrounded by vibrant clouds of ionized gas, is a testament to the dynamic forces shaping the universe. Inspired by its ethereal beauty, this painting reimagines Sharpless 162 with bold colors and abstract strokes, capturing its essence as a celestial marvel.
